Close All FAQs | Open All FAQs Pantry shelves hold many different size items, from small spice jars to large cereal type boxes. Typically we recommend a minimum of our 4 7/8"shelf on the bottom of pantries. Then 3 1/2 tall or taller for the rest of the pantry shelves. Slanted shelves work good in pantry cabinets as they allow great organization of various size items and allow for good visual view when you pull them out There are a few ways to install pull out shelves in a pantry with no existing shelves. Sidemount:If your pantry cabinet euro style ( the hinges are mounted to the inside wall of the cabinet) you simply screw the drawer slides to the inside cabinet wall where you want the shelves located. If your pantry is a face frame cabinet ( the hinges will be attached to a 3/4" hardwood board that frames the outside of the cabinet) You will need to build out the inside wall of the pantry cabinet with wood strips or spacers where you want the shelves installed. Rear Sockets: These are only needed on face frame cabinets. They mount like your kitchen drawers. The front of the drawer slide screws into the middle of the face frame and the rear socket, which holds the rear of the drawer slide, attaches to the cabinet back. Pilaster Systems: A pilaster system attaches to the inside cabinet wall and has dowels that attach to the drawer slide for mounting. A pilaster system also allows you to adjust the pantry shelves vertically Yes there is, we do this conversion often. #1 install the pull out pantry shelves in the cabinet. #2 close the pantry door and make a light pencil mark around the outside of the door (this will allow you to re-align the door onto the pantry cabinet after the next step) #3 remove the pantry door and then remove the hinges from the door #4 Put double faced tape (use the thicker type that is used for mounting mirrors) in two places on the top and bottom pull out shelves that you installed earlier. #5 Carefully place the door corresponding to the pencil mark that you made in step 2, press the door against the double faced tape. #6 slowly pull the door towards you, this will bring the two shelves that have the double face tape with the door. #7 From the front inside of the shelves that rolled out, install 3/4" screws into the shelves and door (make sure you are putting the screw into the thick part of the door). Roll out the other pantry shelves and attach them to the door the same way. Now you have a pull out pantry!!! |
